BeMyDD and Jack Daniel’s Partner to Support Montgomery County Designated Driver Holiday Campaign

BeMyDD (Be My Designated Driver), the nation’s largest designated driver service, announced today that it has partnered with Brown-Forman’s Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey brand and the Montgomery County, Maryland, Department of Liquor Control to support a holiday “Keeping It Safe” designated driver program.
As part of the program, BeMyDD will be placing point of purchase displays in all liquor stores in Montgomery County containing free promotional cards with a redeemable code entitling new users of the BeMyDD service to US$20 off of their first reservation.
“We want to show our support for the Keeping It Safe campaign by doing something to make the roads safer,” said Arthur Simanovsky, president and CEO of BeMyDD. “We’ve discounted our designated driver service to encourage people to have fun this holiday season, but in a socially responsible way.”
With drunk driving statistics significantly higher during the holidays—the U.S. National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) reports 40 percent of traffic-related deaths during Christmas and New Year’s involve drunk drivers—BeMyDD provides a safe, reliable and affordable alternative to getting behind the wheel after a night out. Despite the risks, drinking and driving is still a serious problem. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) just announced that while drunk driving deaths decreased from the previous year, 10,076 people died in crashes involving a drunk driver in 2013 – one every 52 minutes.
