The Orange County Sheriff's Department has announced special anti-DUI "saturation patrols" will flood streets in Dana Point, San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano tonight.
But a company is also offering rides by professional drivers that will only slightly add to Valentine's Day revelers' tabs for candy, flowers and prix fixe dinners and drinks.
BeMyDD (Be My Designated Driver), which bills itself as the nation's largest designated driver service, will have one of their drivers chauffeur singles or couples in their own cars for $12.50 to $17.50 per hour. The fee varies by location.
All drivers are pre-screened professionals with at least 10 years of driving experience and car insurance. They show up dressed in formal business attire. And if someone has already driven somewhere, a team of two drivers will be dispatched to take the revelers and their car home. That service is $25 plus mileage.

Tonight's saturation patrols run from 7 p.m. through 3 a.m. Saturday in parts of San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point and San Clemente that have histories of DUI arrests, collisions and fatalities.
Funding comes from a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. If you see a drunk driver, you're encouraged to call 9-1-1.
