New SA Company Hopes to Cut into City's DWI Rate

An Ohio based company which says it has a solution to San Antonio's seemingly intractable problem of drunk driving has opened up in the Alamo City, just in time for St. Patrick's Day and Fiesta, 1200 WOAI news reports.

Called 'Be My Designated Driver' or on line as BeMyDD.com, the firm provides unique transportation solutions for people who plan to do a little drinking and want to get home safe. As founder and CEO Arthur Simanovsky puts it, 'we drive your car, so you don't have to.'

"A driver will come to the customer's home, and will actually drive you in your own automobile," Simanovsky says. "In Texas, that fee is $14.50 an hour."

Simanovsky says the price, which is substantially lower than the usual fee for a chauffeured automobile, is possible because the driver is driving the customer's own car, and using the customer's gasoline.
